The Volunteer Park Conservatory is operated in collaboration between the Friends of the Conservatory and Seattle Parks & Recreation. Each provide critical resources to preserve this gem of our city and ensure public access.
Founded in 1980, the Friends of the Conservatory is the primary support organization to Seattle Parks and Recreation in the operations of Volunteer Park Conservatory. A 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, the FOC facilitates public access, provides programming, community outreach, supports historic preservation, and leads fundraising for the conservatory.
Seattle Parks and Recreation promotes healthy people, a healthy environment, and strong communities. The Volunteer Park Conservatory is one of four specialty gardens among a 6,200-acre park system of 400+ parks and natural areas. SPR helps maintain the plant collections.
