Around the World in 4 Days:
A Treasury of Plants at the Volunteer Park Conservatory
Ages: Students ages 9 to 11 (12 Students maximum per session)
Tuition: $75.00 (Scholarships available, please ask)

Students will become members of
the Friends of the Conservatory for one year.
Four Days of Fun!
Join us for an exciting adventure at the Conservatory in Volunteer Park to learn about trees and plants found around the world without ever leaving Seattle. The Conservatory has an extensive plant collection on exhibit and more in the greenhouses which will make this an extra-special experience. Students will venture behind the scenes in the greenhouses, use microscopes to examine plant structures, and explore with art tools. Students will make a Travel Journal of their ‘Adventure’ as they examine plants from different bioregions of the world.
Activities will include:
Treasure hunts
Sample edible flowers, fruits and vegetables from around the world
Explore Deserts and Rain Forests
Examine cacti and ferns, and see how they differ
Learn to make plant prints
Make a terrarium
Explore Volunteer Park
Investigate plant growth with microscopes and other tools
Grow your own plants from seeds and cuttings
Create a Travel Journal with maps and illustrations
Explore:
